According to a study conducted by a group of scientists from the University of Stirling, Scotland, men see make-up women cooler,
women, on the other hand, are more likely to see their male counterparts as a dominant character, as well as lightweight.
Clinical Psychologist Mehmet Başkak gave the following information about the details of this interesting research:
Two experiments were conducted within the scope of the research.
In the first experiment, a standardized amount of makeup
was applied to the female faces using a computer program. A group of male and female participants were then asked to rate these faces in terms of attractiveness, coolness and dominance.
In general, both male and female participants of the experiments agreed that makeup faces were more aesthetically appealing, but their ratings for being cool and dominant character differed between men and women.
Female respondents stated that women with make-up face were more dominant, while male respondents thought that women with make-up face were cooler.
The researchers conducted a second experiment and tried to find out if the tendency of female participants to see makeup women as the more dominant character was due to jealousy.
The result is not surprising: "Women feel more jealousy of their fellow make-up." Moreover, the researchers concluded that women found their fellow with makeup more attractive and lighter for men. In fact, women see their predecessors as a dominant character with a tendency to perceive their counterparts more like competitors. They treat them with feelings of jealousy and categorize them accordingly. ”
